Dalt Vila, the heart of Ibiza’s old town, was declared a World Heritage Site in 1999.
To visit this beautiful part of Ibiza is an absolute must.
We go there several times a year just take in this special atmosphere.
There are several entrances but we always enter through the gate of Ses Taules, beside the old marketplace (‘Mercat Vell’) and walk through the historic narrow and charming streets.
You then end up at the top of the hill and watch the amazing view of Ibiza town from where the old Cathedral of St. Mary of the Snows is located.

On the way down have a pit stop and take time out in any of the many cafes or restaurants.
While you are there it’s worth paying a visit to Ibiza’s Museum of Contemporary Art. The historic building has been beautifully restored with glass floors under the ground -2 floor of the museum, where you can see archeological items under your feet of different historical periods, with a timeline that is around the sixth century BC.
You will also be able to see the permanent collection of Ibiza born, Antoni Marí Ribas, which is one of the most productive painters in Ibiza. The museum usually have some excellent temporary exhibits as well, that are worth checking out.
